Which Types of Gases Used in CNC Plasma

After the general enquiry on CNC plasma cutting process, the next queries come from the end of customers are what are the types of gas used in plasma cutting. Now there are a lot of variety on gases that is used in CNC plasma cutting machine. This informative lines are going to tell a client, on the variety of gases used in these devices.

Look at Various Kinds of Gases

Function of Plasma Gas- Plasma gas means a mixture of gases which is used to generate the plasma bean and then carrying out the cutting process. The CNC plasma cutting machines is made with two sections and these are ignition phase and cutting phase. So, the plasma gas is divided into ignition gases and cutting gases.
  1. Read about Ignition Gas- Ignition gas is used to ignite plasma arc. The function of the gas is facilitating the ignition process. The gas has a positive influence on cathode. Cathode is an important aspect of plasma cutting machines.
  2. What about the Cutting Gas- As the process of ionization is used, the cutting gas is electrically conductive. The cutting gas can generate the main arc between cathode and work piece. At first, the energy of the arc helps the material in melting then the melted material is blown out by the flow speed of cutting gas. In order to get the best cutting results, the cutting gas differentiates on the basis of material types and thickness.
Know about Marking Gas- The gas which is used in plasma marking, is referred as marking gas.

Little Description on Control Gas- The Control Gas is led into the torch head and used in controlling the presence of protection cap. The usage of control gas means the machine can only be started when the torch is properly installed.

With the flowing of plasma gas, the nozzle is blown forward. Now nozzle is cathode and electrode is anode. With usage combination of both of them, the plasma cutter works.
